Load-bearing structure under a staircase?
Hello.
My question is, could the red-marked studs be a load-bearing construction?
There used to be some kind of board nailed there before that divided the space into two parts.
Since I don't know anything about staircase construction, I'm unsure if I dare to take down the entire structure.

Please help.
Kind regards, Fredrik

Not easy to say with just an image for help. The staircase seems to be custom-built, so the staircase probably remains, but whether the studs are part of a load-bearing wall or not. Can't you open it and see which direction the joists run on the upper floor to get your answer there? But if I had to guess, I don't think it's a load-bearing wall.
Hello and thanks for the answer. Åsarna?.. you're talking to a novice now
The "åsarna" in your case are the same as the floor joists. Check if there's a place near the stairs, either on the lower floor or the upper floor, that you can open and check in which direction the joists are lying. Another option is to peek at the subfloor and see how the nail/screw lines run to figure out the direction of the joists.
