I want to build a climbing wall to hang from the ceiling. What dimensions do the rungs and the side rails need to have to support the weight of an adult, with (a lot of) good margin?

I was thinking of using regular wooden dowels as rungs, if possible. And planed wood as rails.

Distance between the rails (=length of the rungs): 700mm
Length of the rails (=entire climbing wall): 1800mm

Thank you very much!

How did it go with your climbing wall? I was also thinking of building some kind of climbing wall. It's a shame you didn't get any answers. It would have been interesting to hear what dimensions you used.

I would also like to know how it went and which dimensions you used!
