Hi, as a hobby carpenter I usually experiment, but can anyone already now suggest if a beam (two on either side of a 95x95 post) with dimensions 95x45 and length 460 cm can be mounted without bending too much?

Pressure-treated wood.
Will be loaded with reinforcement mesh and various roses.
The plants will function like vines and help with anchoring, but will the beam even be able to support its own weight without bending?

In the picture, you see a significantly shorter beam that holds well.

The alternative is, of course, a support, but it will be less attractive :)

  • Wooden beam structure in a garden, surrounded by plants and a trellis with climbing roses. Beam supported by posts, used for garden decoration or plant support.

Can't you choose a beam with a "back" and let the natural curvature counteract the unwanted sagging?

Good tips, noted 🤗
