Hello!

After some consideration, I've decided to take down two interior walls in the basement to create more usable space down there.

The walls I plan to take down are labeled as "plattväggar" on the blueprint. It should be safe to demolish these, right? They are also thinner than the load-bearing wall by the laundry room. I've tried googling "plattvägg" but haven't found anything specific. The house is a 1½-story with a basement, from 1957.

I'm also thinking of installing a new basement window at the green line (170cm long). I don't have any windows in that direction, so I thought it would be nice.

It feels a bit uneasy to tear into the outer wall, but maybe it's not a problem?

Floor plan of a 1957 house basement showing inner walls, marked areas for removal, and a proposed new window location in red and green.

What does the forum think about my plans? :)

They do not appear to be load-bearing, other walls are btg-hollow blocks or masonry, which have a load-bearing function.

The window, however, may be more difficult to fit. You probably need a lintel for the concrete stone. What does it look like above, are there windows above the new window to the same extent?

Yes, there is a window almost directly above, actually. However, it's the only one on that entire short side of the house...
