Is there anyone out there who has any tips regarding literature on constructions and building in general? What I'm looking for is more detailed information, and something that can be bought in bookstores. There should be some student literature on this subject, i.e., no "Timell books."

Are there really no manuals available for the general public when it comes to construction and wooden house building? If you look at the Norwegian SINTEF (formerly the Norwegian Building Research Institute), there seems to be some literature that looks sensible, although it's in Norwegian and at expensive Norwegian prices.
Is there no constructor or civil engineer who can recommend sensible books from their study time or current reference literature?

There is plenty of good literature for different levels. Among others, Svensk Byggtjänst has books like bookstore, student literature, and up to advanced construction master literature. Books are not cheap in Sweden with our small language. I search for books at Byggtjänst, bookstore, etc., and then buy them significantly cheaper on Bokus.com. Bokus has plenty of construction literature. A tip.
