I will use hydraulic lime plaster on my basement walls that we are renovating. My question is if anyone has experience painting with silicate paint on this plaster? I would like to avoid lime paint because I need to be able to wipe it down and I don't want it to chalk. I've googled around and some suggest that silicate paint works on lime plaster if it's indoors. Has anyone painted with silicate paint on lime mortar with good results or does it crackle?

I have painted with silicate paint on weber lime plaster. However, not hydraulic. It worked well.

It is Kiilto gray grout, hardset. I've put some grout on top of the short side of the skirting. I can take a picture if I remember tomorrow, now the bed is too comfortable for me to make my way down to the basement.

How nice! Then it should work for us too.

Painted with Alabaster's crystallate on hydraulic lime mortar in the basement. Primed with their primer. Turned out great, very easy to work with and good coverage.
