Hello

We saw a house with the following specification:

Year built: 1941
Foundation: Basement
Foundation wall: Lättklinker
Frame: Brick + wood
Facade: Stucco
Floors: Wood + concrete

The question is, should one be concerned about radon in this construction?

Hmm....
I think it might be a typo/thought error or similar.
As far as I know, it wasn't built with lättklinker that early.
The most common materials in foundation walls at the time were concrete hollow blocks.
Brick was used sometimes, but maybe not in Kalmar.
In some areas, blocks with slag aggregate were used.
But not lättklinker.

I thought the same thing. Lättklinker is a type of Lecablock, right? Maybe you mean lättbetong, more commonly known as blåbetong... Not nearly as common in foundation constructions as concrete blocks. If it's blåbetong, there's a high probability of radon, yes. However, it doesn't necessarily mean catastrophic radioactivity levels. It depends on where the blåbetong is manufactured. Conduct a measurement in winter. In the summer, airing out is too frequent to get accurate values.
