Light granite entrance stairs

We want to build an entrance stair clad in granite, but at the same time light.
What could we use as a "frame" that is light but still functional?
Is there anything better/lighter than lecablock?

I have a granite slab as a step. It will be removed but not sold.
Admittedly nice, but in the winter the snow freezes onto it and with a bit of thawing weather it turns to ice. It gets as slippery as h_ll.
I will build a wooden step when the project approaches the step-building phase.

We have changed our minds, it will be a wooden staircase as other staircases on the sloping property will also be made of wood.
