I am planning to furnish an attic and remove the old underfloor while keeping the old beams.
I have a question about the easiest way to level the floor and install underfloor heating on the upper floor (I know it's okay with wooden floors + underfloor heating). I'm thinking of installing heating plates for the floor structure, so I'm planning to lay new beams across the old ones, see picture. However, I don't want to build too high as I'll hit my head on the tie beam which I don't want to move. Therefore, I'm wondering if a 45*45 lath is enough? See the picture. Or should I use a 45*70 lath? The floor will be 20-25 mm thick solid pine flooring. I want to make it as simple as possible. Grateful for any answers.
