Planning to install two sliding doors with ceiling and floor rails in an opening of 250~x163 cm. The height of the sliding doors is 240 cm, which means I need to lower the ceiling by 10~ cm for the installation of the ceiling rail. I'm thinking of using two studs 45x70, one in the ceiling and another underneath, running from wall to wall (163 cm). Two such studs create a gap of about 1 cm (the ceiling is not exactly 250 cm).
The image shows an approximate idea. No modification to the ceiling molding extending into the space. Plasterboard and then a new, miter-sawed ceiling molding in front to achieve the built-in look.
Should I place spacer washers at appropriate centers or how is this best done?
