Planning to put decorative stone on a basement wall (exterior wall) but realize it needs to be very even first. What should I use to smooth it out most easily? I have a lot of mortar lying around but not much desire to apply it on the wall since it will be covered anyway and also because it's a heavy job. Can I dilute the mortar a bit extra and skim coat with it maybe? Or can I sand down the worst unevenness and use regular filler?

Where did you buy that stone?

Isn't it possible to run with fixvkam with large gearing? you set it up with fix?

Stegu, bought at ByggMax,

I'm thinking about sanding everything super uneven and adjusting it with fix. It's going to need a crazy amount, but maybe it's totally worth it! Otherwise, it will need a crazy amount of filler :)

Do you have a picture of the result?

How did you solve it?

Facing a similar project.

Not yet, it will be at the beginning of next year. The tactic is to grind down the worst (only cement-like joints) and then smooth on fix. Will get back with the results :) I have a diamond disc for the angle grinder that I used to remove old cold asphalt when we redid the drainage.
