We have a terrace built on top of our basement (connected to the house's regular basement). The basement has brick walls and a concrete slab. During heavy rainstorms, water gets in on the floor and leaks through a damage in the plastered floor. The damage is at the edge above the outer wall, and you can see brick under the plaster/concrete.
I plan to repair the damage in the floor, but should some form of waterproofing be applied after cleaning out the damage? Can anyone recommend what to use to repair the damage?

I don't understand what you mean. Do you have leakage through the terrace floor into the basement? If so, you should gently chip away the loose plaster and repair it with new plaster. After that, I would paint the plinth and the terrace with a product that is a diffusion-open silicate paint.
The basement is extended outside the house, and the "roof" (cast) of that part of the basement thus forms the floor for our patio. On the short side, a part of the floor has come loose (probably frost damage) about 10 centimeters in from the edge. Under the damage, I see that the wall is made of brick, while the floor is cast. It looks like the floor has been "topped" with some kind of plaster/filler, and this has come off like a cake about 10*40 and 1-2 cm deep.
When it rains and the wind blows from the west, water hits under the patio roof and then leaks into the basement. Now that I'm going to fix it, I'm thinking about how and with what I should use to prevent the same problem from occurring again.
The house was built in 1956, so the construction works if I just get it sealed again.

hi, I also have a house built in '56 with a cast altsn cracked along the sides higher up frost damages and even water leakage to the basement storage underneath. how did it go for you? have you sorted this out or do you have any suggestions as I am facing the same challenge.
