I want to reinforce the hallway floor before laying tiles and I'm considering fully gluing (LIP flexicol) floor gypsum. But should the gypsum be placed in the same direction as the chipboard over the joists or across the chipboard? Different manufacturers have different instructions.
The area is 2.10 x 2.60. So if I place the gypsum along the chipboard (2.60) I'll have a joint in the gypsum and a small piece at the end. Across, there will be no joints.
Using a few screws to press down the gypsum - screws that I will then remove.
