Hi,

just wanted to check with you if it's common for such large cracks to appear in the posts. They are unused, have been lying for 1 year. They are 1500x70 impregnated.

  • A hand holding a wooden post with a large crack.
  • Cracked wooden posts lying on the ground, showing visible splits. The posts are unused and have been stored for one year. Shadows of plants fall across them.
  • Impregnated wooden post with large cracks in the surface, placed on grass, highlighting potential drying or weathering effects.
Heartwood is usually found in poles, check the annual rings on top and they can crack like that.

That's how it is sometimes. As long as you're not using the posts to enclose a Linderödsgalt weighing 250 kg, it's fine.

Still boring, don't need them anymore since I will be installing a power grid instead. So I thought about selling them, but the way they look I think it will be difficult.

Jepp is not even suitable as firewood, as they are treated with decay protection.

Should be possible to sell those. The ones you buy new usually have similar cracks, even if they haven't become that large yet. Anyone who has previously handled that type of poles knows it's only a matter of time before they look like that.

yeah maybe I should put them out and let people decide for themselves if they want them.

As Hep writes. There's nothing wrong with them. They are new/unused.
We have such posts for the electric fence around our horse paddocks. They've been standing for over 20 years now. No problems. Unfortunately, your posts are too short, otherwise, I could have taken them off your hands. :)
I was looking at the price of new ones the other week. They are outrageously expensive, so with reasonable pricing, they should sell in no time.

I went to check the price of new ones a few weeks ago. They're ridiculously expensive, so with reasonable pricing, you should be able to get rid of them in no time.
Alright, okay, then I'll put them up for a reasonable price :) half the new price?

Sounds reasonable.
