I am in the process of installing a chimney for the stove. I have made a hole in the ceiling and installed the lower flashing and inserted the chimney pipe.
The installation instructions state that the pipe should be fixed so that the outer casing of the chimney maintains at least 100 mm to combustible material. This is where it gets weird...
The pipe has a diameter of 215 mm, which means the hole in the ceiling needs to be at least 415x415 mm. The hole in the lower flashing is about 330x330. How did they think this through? There is indeed a substantial flange that rests against the ceiling. Do they mean that the hole should be made larger than the hole in the lower flashing!? There is nothing about this in the instructions.
