Kitchen drywall joint

Hello!
Is there anything specific I should consider when placing over the underlay/hole in the picture to make it as good as possible? Should I place the gypsum board edge to edge and then fill the edges/joint and sand, or should I leave a little margin? Is there a risk it might crack at the nearest joint? I assume you don't use tape like for ceilings.

there is tape that can be folded. also there are special corners to attach

Thanks for the response. But it still seems a bit strange in this case because in such cases, you would have to plaster the entire wall too, right?

you could apply plaster, fill joints, paint, and then install white corner moldings
