Hi, can someone recommend a jack for changing the threshold. I'm going to change the threshold from the inside. What is best, mechanical or hydro?
How many do you need to lift a few mm? I'm thinking of taking 1.5m-2m threshold at a time.
Feel free to share other tips.
Best regards,
Zana

Bottle or screw jacks both do the job...
I've used 3-4 of them to lift on both sides and inside and outside.
Keep in mind with hydraulic ones that they are not 100% airtight and sometimes slowly sink, so you should secure them in some way...

Is it equally easy to work with both variants or do you get closer to the ground with a screw jack?

It all depends on the conditions. What is the wall construction? How high is the foundation? When I did something similar, I could place beams underneath and lift with regular hydraulic jacks. If you need to replace the sill when the house is lifted, it becomes a bit more complicated depending on the type of house.

The crank jack only needs 5-7cm to get the lifting lug in, the downside is it requires a lot of space for the crank.Z zana kader said:
Also bought a hydraulic jack, 18 tons, 26-53cm, which can be controlled with compressed air, convenient when it's tight.
1000kr incl shipping from Expondo.

Thank you for the response. I think I understand it now. I haven't started tearing down yet. But I thought I'd remove all the flooring in the entire house first, then proceed with the sill. I'm replacing from the inside and I have a slab on grade with a raised floor of about 20cm. It will be exciting.
Hi, which jack did you use? I'm also going to lift a wall and replace a beam.
