Hi! I have torn out the old laundry room in our newly purchased house, and where the plaster has fallen off the walls, there is some kind of wool inside that looks like tangled ribbon spaghetti. Is it just reeds or should I be more concerned that it might be asbestos? We are going to convert the space into a bathroom, and the tiler said we should knock down the loose parts, but you don't exactly feel like doing that yourself if there are dangerous things flying around.
Can't say 100% but it is very likely wood wool board, long wood fibers with mortar on. There could be asbestos in the cement, but only a lab test can determine that.
