Just had the garage door installed and there is a difference of about 3cm from the highest to lowest point. I will need to apply filler of about 5mm - 3.5mm at the lowest/highest point, but now the temperature is starting to drop towards 0 and possibly even below at night. Is there any self-leveling compound that can cure in those temperatures, or do I have to build around it and use a heater until it cures?
As mentioned, I plan to apply a filler to then use a thicker compound with a fairly steep slope in both directions, but I can do that in the spring/summer next year as it's not urgent. However, I need to get the raised edge done before the snow comes.
I was thinking of doing the same thing, but for my part, I'll wait until spring. I haven't checked what Weber has for products, but my plan was to buy Finja 560, which is designed for outdoor use and should be applied in at least 10 degrees Celsius (the underlying material should be at least ten degrees). Finja 560 is walkable after 1-2 hours. In other words, if you pour it in the morning, it should be fine by the evening. If not, you can always place an insulation board on top to retain some heat.
Edit: My plan is to fix the slope as it starts to cure.
It will probably be a bit tight anyway. But I will try covering the entrance with plastic and then use the heat fan to try to keep it at about 15-20 degrees constantly and let it sit for 2-3 days until it hardens.
I'll do the leveling later next year instead. But I need to get the edge in place so it's sealed tight for the winter. Otherwise, a lot of snow will blow in where the gap is largest (3.5cm).
