Is a sealant strip important for windows?
I have furnished the upper floor of our 1 1/2 story house, bought it with an unfinished attic. The manufacturer had installed windows in the gables on the upper floor. When I insulated the walls and put up drywall, etc., I insulated with a drive strip around the windows, but I have now discovered that I forgot to put in a drive list inside the strip.
Under the window, we have a stone slab as the window sill. I now see in Beijer's guide on how to replace windows that you should put sealant in the groove in the sill piece. A carpenter I consulted thought a drive strip was enough and didn't mention the sealant.
Now everything is finished, casings up, plastered around, etc. My question is how you here on the forum think, do I have to take down all the casings and the window sill and redo it???
Grateful for answers!

Maybe you are thinking of a so-called bottenlist that is sometimes used to make it diffusion-tight. I have only used drevremsa without such a list. See it as an opportunity for the house to breathe - I wouldn't have taken it down and redone it. It should work fine anyway. I assume the panel was on the outside with trim around the window, in that case, there may be a strip drevad from the outside.
