Trying to gather information before construction. Had different plans before. With Ytong etc. Have to start over.

Now to my question. If you build something in 1.5 stories with rental upstairs, you ideally don't want to hear anything from the upper floor.

I guess a cast-in-place concrete slab would be best. What would be second best then? Keeping heating costs low is also important.

What do you know about the matter?

There is a type of rubber bushings that you can mount the floor joists on, I don't remember what they are called. Then it's an extra layer of floor gypsum and insulation that's needed. You can also add double layers of ceiling gypsum on your ceiling below.

Separate joists for floor and ceiling, respectively.
