Intermediate floor. How to make it quiet? In what?
If you want to build a house with two apartments, one downstairs and one upstairs (like a barn type), what should the intermediate floor be made of to maximally dampen footsteps and noise? And how much more expensive could it be?
It's about 160 sqm downstairs and 120 upstairs.

Preferably, it should be a concrete floor structure, but that's probably not realistic. An apartment-separating floor structure that dampens both airborne sound and impact noise primarily takes up more vertical space. Simply put, you need to build two floor structures that are separate from each other.
Why is concrete slabs unrealistic? I don't know anything about this currently. Just wondering.J justusandersson said:

Concrete floors assume some form of masonry walls on the ground floor. Does the building exist in reality?

With lightweight concrete walls, it is possible to cast a concrete vault. It was quite common in the 1950s. 11 m is a fairly substantial span that must be tackled in a systematic way.
