Hello everyone!

I'm working on a wall project where I will have two recessed sliding doors. I just went to the building supply store to see what screws I should use and whether I should drill and plug through the parquet to secure the beam to the floor. He got a bit upset and insisted that I need to cut into the parquet for the beam so it can be placed directly against the concrete, otherwise there's a risk the whole wall will warp if the floor moves.

I might add that it's a condominium in a brick building from the 70s. Floating wood parquet, no visible cracks.

What do you think? Do I need to cut into the floor, or can I place the beam on top of the floor?

Grateful for any answers!
