Hi. I'm going to re-panel my house. At the same time, I'm putting 45 mm insulation underneath. The problem I have is that the insulation expands from 45 mm to almost 75 mm, which makes it difficult to stretch the wind paper to get a satisfactory air gap behind the z-panel. On the west wall, I have inserted small square pieces of foam to keep the paper away from the panel. It seems to work satisfactorily… But on the north wall, I was thinking of installing horizontal battens to hold in the insulation before stretching the wind paper… Could this cause any problems? I have horizontal 45 rafters and paper with horizontal 10 mm nail battens… I don't want thicker battens since the roof overhang would suffer… So I'm simply wondering… Can you screw battens to hold in the insulation under the wind paper? I'll try to get a picture of the mess... Best regards, Mats

Maybe a silly question.. But you haven't forgotten to separate it, have you? It's like two layers of insulation that need to be pulled apart.

I might be expressing myself unclearly. But here's what it says on the Byggmax website about 45-ison: To get the correct measurement, simply split the roll after the pre-made slitting, thereby getting two "wall rolls" per package.

And it is rarely THICKER insulation than what you've paid for. Rather, you might get iso that doesn't quite fill out as you intended. ;)
