Hi,
I'm not sure if I've chosen the right thread here.
We have an approved tiled stove, but the chimney is not approved. Therefore, we need to insert pipes in the chimney and fill with vermiculite. The chimney is about 6m high and they also need to attach about 15 roof steps. They don't need to dismantle the crown of the tiled stove but can access it from the second floor.
We have received two quotes, one for about 9,000kr and one for 15,000kr (all after tax reduction).
We became a bit suspicious due to the price difference.
Has anyone else done something similar, what did you pay?

Thanks!

The downside of inserts is that you don't get as much heat into the chimney stack.
There are different inserts, I believe?
I inserted a stainless steel hose, attached a rope to the end of the pipe/hose and dropped it down the flue, then someone was down in the basement pulling while I fed it from the roof, I think it was about 9m with a bend in the flue, it just reached down to where I needed to mortar in the fitting.

There's a good thread here called "egen glidgjutning godkänd" with lots of tips on pulling/repointing the flue internally, maybe that could be something if you want to do the work yourself, then you still get the nice warmth from the chimney stack.

Thank you for the response!

However, we have decided not to glide cast this chimney as we will not be using this kakelugn extensively. Otherwise, I also think it seems like the best option!

We got a pipe for our kakelugn. I think it's only 150mm because it was a narrow channel. Back then, 7 years ago, it cost about 1100/m and we had about 7m to the top. This was before Roten's time. And yes, it was white. Possibly got a package price as they did two pipes at the same time.
