Hello,

I have a Gullringshus built in 1978. The walls are modules of some kind of 12mm building board, I don't know the width but it doesn't seem to be a standard size. I am now planning to renovate a room and thought of putting drywall on the walls to make it a bit nicer/more stable/less prone to cracking.

However, according to the drawings, there is pastfolie behind the building board. Can I safely screw the drywall directly onto the existing panels, or will I perforate/damage the plastic film?

I don't know where the studs are; it seems like there is a horizontal sparse panel behind the board, 20x95 c 400.

What should I do?

  • Room with beige walls and wooden floor, possibly ready for renovation. The upper part of the walls is sloped, with a strip of decorative border.
No one to answer? Can I screw drywall directly onto the wall/ceiling pitch without risk?
