I am planning to install a wrought iron balcony on my house. I'm thinking of something like this:

I am currently renovating the upper floor of the house and have the opportunity to, for example, reinforce the wall with extra planks if needed. It's a wooden house built with loose materials.
My question is: How do you attach the balcony? Is it okay to use large lag bolts directly into the wall (against a wall stud)? Will it hold? Should there be spacers so the balcony hangs 1 cm from the facade?
If anyone knows or has experience with this, I would gladly accept tips..

I would check with an engineer about this....but I'm guessing through-bolting if it's not possible to have a bracket going downward as well.....
