First time posting here, but I've been a faithful reader for many years
I'm going to install a grill door in front of an existing door frame on an interior wall. The interior wall consists of:
Gypsum 13
Gypsum 13
Stud 45
Gypsum 13
Gypsum 13
I have stud material behind my grill door frame.
I am now wondering what is best, to use the thickest possible wood screws and attach to the underlying wooden studs or to run some form of bolt straight through the entire wall and fasten it on the other side with a plate and nut, with a larger area, maybe 10x10 cm. Cosmetics are not important
Will it be much stronger with a bolt/plate than with screws? And where can I find these large washers if I need them?
The bottom of the frame is otherwise attached to the concrete floor.
Suggestions on how I can secure the attachment so that it cannot be easily unscrewed?
