Hello.
In our house, we have waterborne underfloor heating. In one half, the loops are under the wooden floor, and in the other, they are cast in a slab with click flooring. The house was built in 2004. I suspect that the slab is insulated with only 20 cm of cellular plastic, and we live in the colder parts of the country, north of the Dalälven. We experience more comfort in the half with the loops under the wooden floor, and we are considering doing the same with the rest of the house. The question is whether it is possible at all? Could moisture problems arise? Can you put battens on the concrete and insulate with cellular plastic, and then lay the loops, or should you go with grooved EPS boards and wooden floor on top? In conjunction with this, we are planning to install geothermal heating instead of a wood burner.
The area to be redone is about 40 sqm, a hall, and 2 bedrooms.
What is the safest and cheapest way preferably :D:thinking:!
Regards, a pondering DIY enthusiast.
