Summer is here and the temperature in one of our bedrooms is becoming unbearable again.

Therefore, I am considering installing a lvp in this room for cooling in the summer and perhaps a bit of reduced heating cost in the winter.

But I wonder how I should make a hole in the facade for the hose package. The hole will be on the short side of the house, and the facade is plaster on mineral wool and wood stud framing. How do I find the studs before drilling? Is it just a matter of starting to tear down the drywall on the inside or do you have any other good tips?

My second question concerns the outdoor unit for the pump. I was thinking of mounting it on the roof terrace outside the room; below it is only the carport, but it's attached to the house. Do you think the vibrations will be transmitted into the house a lot?

  • A wooden roof terrace with a white wall, door, and outdoor lamp, possibly for air conditioning unit installation.
To the second question, I can answer Absolutely Not. We have the outdoor unit for one of the pumps on a balcony, and I've never noticed a single vibration - even though I sit and work during the days in the adjacent room.

I can report back that the solution to the heat problem was a bit simpler than an lfp.

Ordered and installed solar film on the outside of the windows and door, and this made a huge difference in the indoor temperature of the room, so much that we no longer need to add cooling.

So I can really recommend this if you are experiencing issues with warm rooms due to sunlight.

Brilliant ;) Any tips on good solar film? Does it reduce the view much when it's dawn/dusk/dark?

A quality window film contains a metal layer, so you don't need to have much tinting and the view is maintained.
