I'm renovating our summer house, including putting up new wall coverings and new electrical wiring. Now to my question, does anyone have any good tips for making the holes perfectly align with the electrical outlets when installing the panels? Of course, you can measure, but is there an easier way, like marking paint or something similar?

If you want to avoid measuring, you can use one of these:

Or Hole in One Magnet Finder Set for 595 kr at Jula (599 at Clas Ohlson)

Don't know about the quality but magnetic finder art no 16-871 at Biltema 279:-

The magnet finder from Jula is the original. Works excellently once you've gotten the feel for it. Gypsum is the easiest to drill. When milling plywood or similar, you may need to be a bit cautious since the centering in the magnet insert might not quite manage to align a slightly skewed incoming hole saw. Expect that the inserts will wear out...

I have both that one and the original - both work equally well..
Admittedly, I've had the original for several years and the Biltema one for only a month, but they look very similar (even the same number on them.. :)

It seems convenient but how do they work?? I'm going to have OSB + drywall

The magnet hole system has four modules that fit into boxes (two for 70 mm device boxes, one for 80 mm junction boxes, and one for ceiling boxes) along with a magnet finder.

You press one of the modules into a box, align the plate in front, and then use the magnet finder by placing it against the plate. It is quite strong, and with a little finger sensitivity, you can find the center of the box. Then you drill with the right hole saw in one movement through the hole in the magnet finder, the plate, and finally the module in the box, which conveniently also has a hole. Done! You don't need to move the plate again. Screw in place and repeat with the next layer.

Great, then I thank you for the advice and will go out to buy these :)
