Wooden double garage door with black panels, part of a 70s-style renovation project. There's no canopy above the entrance, suggesting possible upgrade.

This garage door (which is currently being renovated) needs an entrance roof, but since the houses are in the style of the '70s funkis, i.e., square boxes in dark brown with original flat roofs and no entrance roofs at all, I need to come up with something that matches the style of the houses. Do you have any suggestions?

You will probably get more and better responses if you both post more pictures of the house than this small snippet, and also describe the function the roof is supposed to serve. "Entrétak" can be interpreted as anything from a cantilevered glass panel that protects the door leaf for the brief moment it is opened, to something large on posts, providing more permanent protection for an entire driveway.

In general, it is often better to have a clear but well-made stylistic contrast where it is clear what is new and what is old, rather than attempts at "adaptation" which often just end up being awkward.

But as mentioned, post more pictures and a spec of what the roof is supposed to do.
