I'm trying to figure out how to build an inspection hatch that is flush with the floor. I find the ready-made solutions available unnecessarily expensive.
Right now, there is a particle board screwed on top of the existing floor, which is also made of particle board. This is impractical as it creates an uneven surface (albeit in a closet).
Does anyone have tips on what kind of hinges and similar items to use? The idea is to make the hatch in particle board to then be able to lay click flooring on the hatch and the floor.
