How do I solve this in the best way? Use plastic or not? I will need to screw into the plastic since there is no room for a gles. Or is it worth putting plastic on such a small piece?

  • Wall under windows with exposed insulation, radiator underneath, debate on using plastic covering for small section of the wall.
  • A wall section under a window with exposed insulation and a nearby wall socket, questioning the use of plastic sheeting.
what was there originally? if the rest of the house lacks plastic, the recommendation is to skip it, if you really want something then a vapor barrier is an alternative.

By the way, that is an outer wall and not an inner wall.

There were windows. Can I use plastic and then gypsum board directly on top? Is an air gap necessary?

some new houses are still built today without installation walls, so you then have to screw through the plastic, no problem with that!
I wouldn't have put plastic in your case, there's nothing on the left and right?
the reason for not putting it is because you then get an increased moisture load where there is no plastic, but here ventilation plays a significant role.

if there is nothing to the left and right of this, skip everything; if you have some form of thin paper material behind in the rest of the house, use that, mimic how the rest of the house looks.

regarding the air gap on the panel, if it has worked since 65, it will continue to work going forward; if you do that on a new house, you're in trouble.

There is some kind of foil. Like the kind you put on car windows so it doesn't freeze. Approximately that thickness and silvery.
Assume it's supposed to be the moisture barrier?
