Hello. I saw a picture from someone who had covered their wooden staircase with black stone or a stone-like material. The staircase in general, including the steps, was made of wood, and on the steps were semi-circular shaped steps. And on the front of the steps, there was also stone glued (or so).

I thought it was really nice, but I can't find this to buy online. Does anyone know where to get something like this, or have other tips on this?

There are crescent-shaped stair mats at e.g. Ellos, perfectly OK

Hi Åsa. Thank you very much for the quick response! I have now been in and checked them, and yes, they are nice; but what I thought was so lovely about the ones I saw was that they were made of stone. These are (as far as I can see) made from various types of fabric material.

Go to a stonemason with a template cut out of plywood.

There are very large tiles available for purchase at tile stores. These often resemble stone and can be cut (with the advantage of being thinner than "traditional" stone).

It sounds pretty harsh to slip in a stone staircase.
