"impregnera" interior brick wall ?

Hello

I have bought a fun house from 1956 where the outer wall is an old-fashioned double-skin brick, and even the inner walls are built with bricks. This brick, by the way, was free for the builder when an old forge was demolished, hence this orgy in bricks.

All the walls are plastered, but I am considering knocking off the plaster on the walls in the living room to expose the brick. I tested knocking and wire-brushing away the plaster in a storage room to see if it looks nice, and it does. The exposed brick surface is quite 'scratchy' and porous, and I would like to get that semi-matte 'oiled' look you often see on nicely treated floor tiles, but floor tiles, for example, have a smoother surface to start with.

Do you have any ideas for me? Could one, for instance, soak it in linseed oil until it looks saturated?

Floor tiles are usually either varnished or saturated with "klinkerolja" to bind the dust. Linseed oil also works but it only gives a darker matte finish; if you want it shinier, you need to apply a wax. Here are two pages with inspiration:
