Impossible to find long panels for bargeboards
It is almost impossible to find timber for my bargeboards in Stockholm... I hunted for 22mmx145mm in lengths over 5m for the house but no luck.
The longest I found was 4.8m...5.4m is not available at any of the big stores (Bauhaus/ByggOle/Silvan etc.) and not even at sawmills can they be found.
How do others manage...spice together 2 shorter ones...not a good solution specifically for bargeboards (very exposed to wind and weather)...but soon I must give in unless someone can suggest a good source in Uppland or south of Stockholm.
Anyone????

That can be a bit tricky, it depends on what the sawmills have to deliver at the moment. Even if the building supply store wants long pieces, they may not be able to deliver that right then. But then suddenly they might get long logs and it's no problem. You probably have to call around and check, or ask the building supply store to check with the sawmill if they can get long pieces for the next delivery, but then you might have to wait a while.
Call and check with one of the Small sawmills in Uppland.ashleyjonathan said:
Thanks for the tip...called around all day yesterday without anyone having it at home...but as you say, it's just a matter of waiting for the next delivery...putting together 2 pieces feels wrong...I'd rather do it right from the start
Finger jointed you can get the length you want
In the end, I managed to find 4 pieces at 5.4m at Optimera in Länna! But after a lot of searching....
