Hello! Water is dripping from the kitchen fan, I wonder if snow has melted down. If it's an ice plug, what's the easiest way to thaw it? It's a steel pipe with a cap.

Guessing condensation instead. Is it an uninsulated attic above the kitchen? Does the kitchen hood's duct go straight up? If so, you can check if the duct is insulated or not. It needs to be insulated if it goes through a cold attic, otherwise, you'll get condensation during the cold half of the year.

Hi, thanks, uninsulated attic. I need to check if the duct is uninsulated.

Had similar issues in a 70s house and insulated the pipe from the kitchen fan, since then it has been good.
