I'm going crazy over this.

The house I'm renovating was built in 1968 and in the basement, the walls are plastered with lime mortar. It's built on being quite porous, dusting like crazy and has that gray, white, beige color.

My question now is - can you or can you NOT put tiles on this material LIME MORTAR SERPO 148? Is there anyone who knows? Some say it's perfectly fine, others say no no... if you put tiles on it, it will collapse.

I really hope someone can shed some light on the issue.

I can't imagine that everyone goes and removes the plaster when they tile in the basement.
