Hello.
I'm going to replace a ceiling. Classic old huntonit board, I thought. So I bought some stacks of Huntonit Classic, took down the old boards, and was about to start putting up new ones. Only to realize the width doesn't match. The old ceiling boards are CC 300, while the new boards are a total of 300 with tongue-and-groove, but the actual covering width is only 280. What is this? Has Huntonit changed their widths since the house was built (early 80s), or is the old ceiling some other variant with a different width?

It's really a hassle now, all of a sudden I have completely the wrong distance between the furring strips 😭

That's the danger with Huntonit, they are not in module 300X600 exactly.

What do you think about tacking against glesen, maybe it won't work in your case but it could be an alternative

Yes, placing them crosswise against the sparse panel would solve things technically. I've been told here that it would be a disaster aesthetically, but I'm working on that front :-)

At first, I thought it might be possible to find a panel that matched, but that seems difficult. Maybe it was something that only existed in the 80s...

It might just end up that I simply have to supplement with more sparse, the question is how best to do it. Take, for example, an elongated section of the ceiling in the attached image. On the right, there is no problem; I have a beam to nail against there, but how do I do it on the left? The beam in question is several decimeters behind the wall. The only thing I can think of is to fit in small board pieces above, which I attach to the existing sparse so that I can attach the new one to it. Would that be stable enough? I drew a proposed board in the image so you understand what I mean.

Without a doubt, it would be stable enough, especially if the wife is satisfied.
