I'm tiling a wall and have only two rows x1.2m left when the adhesive runs out. I have an old bag of adhesive left but it's about 3 years old, has been stored dry the entire time, and looks okay. It was opened and is half full. The bag states it has a shelf life of at least 12 months when unopened. It's LIP multi tile adhesive light and I'm hanging natural stone around a wood-fired sauna stove. It's the top two rows under the ceiling that are left.
Does adhesive go bad? Should I risk using my old bag to finish the job?
My feeling is that cement doesn't go bad but that it might become clumpy or something and therefore become unsuitable. But maybe someone here has knowledge about this.

Tested a 5-year-old bag of LIP245 and the result was that it took about 10 times longer to set compared to a new bag. Not fixed but something obviously happens with special cement over time
Had to scrape off the mess and start over. After this, leftovers from the bags go to disposal after the date on the packaging
