Hello,

basement gutted. Turns out all the walls (including partition walls) are made of siporex. Good, I think. The plan now is to "mesh" and render all the walls. All previous framing and insulation have been removed. The basement is bone dry. I can't smell anything "bad" at all, but my wife says there's some smell (not mold, though). Could the siporex really have absorbed the smell? If so, is it perhaps necessary to do something before meshing and rendering, like some form of pretreatment? Or should rendering be "enough"? Any tips on the type of suitable paint to use on the render?

Thanks for any tips
