Hello,
How should I best secure a beam against its two columns? The beam is used to transfer a wall load, it's an IPE180 resting on two 90x90 glulam columns. Is the self-weight from the joists enough, or should I do something more? Should I also secure it at the connection with the floor?
Best regards,
F

hi! have you already mounted the beam? drill holes in the edge of the steel, where the pillars will be. this is a simple solution.
I did as snickar_lasse says and drilled my beam in the flange and secured it with coach screws in the pillar, worked perfectly, it's solid as a rock.
A tip is to drill the holes before the beam is lifted, it can be difficult to reach in certain situations otherwise...(I've heard)
