I am going to install a stair spindle in the staircase. The spindle is made of wood, but the staircase frame is made of metal and it has a certain angle. How do I screw the spindle to the staircase against the sloping metal so that the entire screw head goes through and it looks nice? Do you have any suggestions on how I can do it?

  • Interior staircase with metal frame and wooden steps, featuring a radiator below. The railing follows an angled wall contour.
  • Wooden spindle against angled metal stair frame, drawn lines indicate placement.
A spindle or are you going to add spindles?

I would probably have drilled and bolted a stud against the steel and attached slats to the wooden stud.

I mean rail, kind of like this one: [link]
Can't you drill for it and attach it with a screw in the steel?

You embed a strip into the beam that ends flush, then you can attach the spindle sticks with wood screws into it...
