Need to remove about 170 cm from an existing ceiling molding, without taking it down.
This is to be able to slide in a tall cabinet that currently stands about 5 cm from the wall as it hits the molding.

What's the best way to do this? Hand saw, jigsaw, etc. are out of the question...

Best regards, kilroy

A sharp chisel and hammer.

Japanese saw, meaning a pull saw with teeth all the way to the edge. Try to gently lift the cornice and insert something underneath it so you don't saw into the wall.

Fein multimaster if you can borrow from someone, otherwise it works well with a chisel...

Buy a Fein Master with saw blade. All reasons to buy new power tools are good... :)

Talk about using a sledgehammer to crack a nut if you buy a Fein to saw ONE ceiling list...but if you have guldbrallor then...

Maybe there is some form of small cutting disc for a Dremel tool that could work. Or for that matter, some form of cutting disc to put in a drill perhaps?

Feel free to tell how it goes/went and what you used.

Tell us where you are, and maybe there's a Multimaster owner nearby. That's done with surgical precision with a Multimaster in a minute.

I borrowed a Fein Master and it was very easy! I will take the opportunity to do some other small jobs with it.

Thanks for the tip.

Completely superb multimaster. Sawed off a patio door frame from a recess. So we could replace the door outward without impacting inward.

Completely superb machine.

Best regards, Putte
