Hello everyone! At the bottom of the wall on the upper floor of our house (1.5 floors), there is a thick beam that the rafters rest on. This beam is located at the top of the wall on the lower floor.

It is rotten for about one and a half meters. And maybe 40-50cm quite badly. The rafters are spaced about 90 cm apart.

How do I replace this in the simplest way?

Is it the hammarband you're thinking of?

Are you thinking about the wall plate?

Yes, that's probably it! But it's thick and square. About 30 cm in diameter.

If you have a picture, it will be easier to help you with how to proceed.

The best way is probably to first support the trusses in an appropriate way, then remove and replace the bad piece, and finally remove the temporary support again. Hopefully, we'll find out exactly how with the pictures. :) The question is how "free" the trusses are, whether they are built-in or fully visible....

Yep, can upload a picture later today.

How should I support in that case? What I am mostly thinking about...

If you're not sure about it yourself, it's best to get help from a builder. There can be quite large consequences if something goes wrong? Writing with the best intentions :)
