Hello,

I was pleased when my gutter brackets weren't "tucked under the roof tiles but it turned out to be short-lived joy. The man who owned the house chose a cheapskate solution for most things, and therefore the heads were also rounded after screwing the same screws in and out when he pushed down plastic gutters into the old brackets.... some can be removed but most can't.... anyone got any tips? I'm considering drilling out the head and letting the rest stay in.....

Drill away the screws

There are tools to extract screws with a broken head. Like these: http://www.jula.se/skruvutdragarsats-5-delar-330185
I don't know how good the quality is, but they explain the principle. A conical left-hand thread, which screws into the screw and when the resistance exceeds what the screw has in its material, the screw will start to turn instead. You may need to start by drilling a small hole in the screw for them to gain traction.
