We are planning to raise the floor by one "step" in one half of the house and two "steps" in the other half. What's the easiest/cheapest way to do this? I've seen some kind of adjustable plastic leg joists, but I'm not even going to find out what they cost; probably far too much. In total, a little over 300m2 of flooring needs to be raised, partly to bring the windows down to a good height and partly for insulation/leveling and to get new floors.
I don't want to just prop up the new floor joists and place wedges or similar because it would be a tremendous job to get it flat and level, as the floors slope quite a bit in different directions. So, I'm considering using angle brackets, which can then be screwed into the side of the floor joists at the correct height.
In the part where the floor needs to be raised two steps, I thought you could lay 2x4s on edge on the old floor (which is a 2-inch thick wooden floor) and screw them down with perhaps 240cm between each plank. Perpendicular to these, you then place the floor joists, which perhaps could be 2x7s, and then lift them to the correct height and screw the angle brackets onto the side of the joist with the foot on the 2x4. You might want to have an angle on each side of the joist above each 2x4. I found angle brackets with the dimensions 3.0X160X50X40, i.e., 3mm thick, 160 high, 50 long, and 40 wide for 10 SEK each. At least 6 cm of the bracket would protrude upwards on the side of the joist, which can be screwed in place with anchor screws. What do you think of this? Any other suggestions?

You mean that the ones at the bottom would be too weak? Even though they are on the existing floor which is tongue and groove and 2 inches thick?
I thought it might be possible to place the angle brackets directly on the floor and that the 2 by 4 would mostly contribute to increasing the height..
Edit: Could fit so that the 2 by 4 stands on top of the existing floor joists, then it's no longer a problem. But what I'm most wondering is if the brackets and screws are enough?

misunderstood. expensive studs in the leveling system but you can drill into other studs. there are flooring panels in approximately the same system
Are you going to change the floor, or do you want to keep the same floor?
If you can imagine keeping the floor, I would have taken it up, placed battens on the existing floor joists, and then screwed the floor back into the same nail holes. At the same time, you can take the opportunity to put in a lot of nice ductwork in the floor, perhaps also underfloor heating.

The floor will be replaced, maybe not so much because it's bad, but because we want to make it a bit easier for ourselves, i.e., let it stay and build new on top. Yes, there will be underfloor heating in the new floor.
But even if we were to put new joists on the existing ones, we would have the same problem, namely reaching high enough and getting it level.

But we also want to raise it about 30-35 cm + make it level, there can be a difference of up to 10 cm in height on the existing floor.
