Hello
I have attached a terrace to the house partly with cut fzv-threaded rod. In other words, a one-meter rod that was cut into three pieces. The cut surfaces started to rust around day 1. Surely it would be wise to apply some protection before closing it up?

I heard something about galvanizing in a can. If that's the right way, I don't know, but maybe you do?

Thanks!

99% zinc is available in a can, it is also available as a spray, for example from CRC. Search in car accessories.
But it's just aesthetic, the remaining galvanization protects galvanically 2-3 mm out on bare steel.

Thank you for that. But what did you say last? Does it have no significance in terms of sustainability?

Regular (anti-corrosion) paint is sufficient. If the rods are somewhat thick, it will take a lifetime before they rust enough to affect their durability.

Thank you for that. Then I'll just slap on a bit of base color, and that should be enough.
