A common ground slab is usually the one with L elements. On the outside is a fiber board, then comes the foam insulation, and after that the edge beam. When placing the exterior wall on the edge beam, are there any simple 'rules of thumb' that indicate how far out the load-bearing frame can be placed? Say you have a load-bearing frame of 195mm, how much can be placed over the foam insulation?
 
Often, the sill is aligned with the edge elements. In my case with 170x45 sill/standing studs, this means that 7cm of the sill rests on a "solid edge beam". Now I'm not worried in the slightest about this; partly because the edge elements have a chamfer in the insulation to increase load-bearing capacity at the outermost part and partly because I have "over-engineered" the reinforcement by placing villa stirrups at c-c 60cm around the entire edge beam.
 
It was precisely the brackets I was interested in avoiding :-). But maybe it's reasonably easy to bend + attach them?
 
Everything is relative,
I borrowed an electric bending machine and my father-in-law got hold of a lot of leftover 8mm rebar from some construction site, so for my part, it took a few hours (200 pieces).

For the actual edge beam reinforcement, it goes easier if you use stirrups because you can prepare by tying everything together (on a few sawhorses or similar) at a comfortable working height and then just lower the finished reinforcement and place it on suitable spacers in the edge beam.

The concrete worker, however, thought that I had overworked the reinforcement; nowadays, apparently, villa stirrups are only used in poor ground conditions.
